26 March 2018 – TUI UK’s first programme launch after last year’s re-brand reveals ambitious growth plans for summer 2019 with an additional 720,000 seats, flying 40 new routes, with 26 exclusive to TUI and five additional UK based aircraft. TUI UK will also increase 10 and 11 night stays and will open 16 new unique concept resorts across the TUI and First Choice brands.
Regional gateways to in demand getaways
Key to overall growth is a dynamic regional aviation plan with new routes from 15 UK airports, 65% of which are unique to TUI. With a focus on mid and short haul destinations, new holiday opportunities will be opened up for passengers across the country, from Aberdeen to Exeter, with new flights to 19 overseas airports in eight countries. The biggest numbers will fly out of Doncaster Sheffield, Manchester, Cardiff, Birmingham, East Midlands and Glasgow Airports, which between them will fly 60% of TUI’s customer growth on holiday.
The soaring popularity of Croatia, the enduring appeal and consistent value of Greece and the resurgence of Turkey are reflected in the programme with nearly 50% of new routes taking customers to these three top destinations. There will also be 200,000 seats available to the popular African islands of Cape Verde, favoured by customers wanting to take advantage of the year round sun.
To enable this ambitious growth five additional UK based aircraft will be introduced across key regional airports.
New TUI Sensimar Resorts in Greece, Turkey and Morocco
TUI Sensimar resorts, the exclusive contemporary adults only range, are all about relaxation and quality. Now grown-ups looking for a child free get away with friends, or couples wanting a romantic break, will have five more to choose from in summer 2019. Three resorts will open in Greece located in Crete, Zakynthos and Santorini, one in Dalaman, Turkey and one in Agadir, Morroco.
They will all feature the hallmarks that make the TUI Sensimar concept stand out with 4 and 5 star ratings, located in beautiful spots with fantastic views and delectable dining. All resorts are designed with space and relaxation in mind so guests can leave their busy lives behind and enjoy a peaceful escape.
New TUI Family Life Resort in Turkey
With a firm focus on quality family time, TUI Family Life resorts pull out all the stops to ensure every generation is catered for with something special for all ages as well as plenty for families to enjoy together. The new Family Life Resort located in Antalya (Turkey) will bring the number in the portfolio to 24 offering unique family holidays across 18 destinations.
All will feature a wide range of activities – adults can take a yoga class whilst the little ones head to the kids’ club, teens can chill in The Hangout (a dedicated space for 12-15 year olds), and grandparents can relax by the pool. Thea’s Coffee Shop will serve up barista style coffee for the adults and fresh juice for the children and delicious local food is served in the choice of restaurants.
New First Choice Holiday Village in The Canaries
Black belts in no bar bills, czars of spas and swim up bars and maestros of all you can eat; First Choice is the undisputed home of All Inclusive holidays. The latest Holiday Village resort will open in Playa Blanca in Lanzarote in 2019 providing all the thrills of an action packed holiday, without extra bills. Thousands of free kids’ places will be available across all TUI and First Choice holidays and deposits will be just £50pp short and mid haul and £125pp long haul.
