24th October 2017 – Leading holiday brands TUI and First Choice are serving up a menu of sun, snow and choice for winter 2018. Following last week’s rebrand from Thomson under the slogan ‘We cross the ‘T’s, dot the ‘I’s and put ‘U’ in the middle’, the focus is firmly on giving customers maximum choice with more flexibility in length of stay, wider selection of flights and new hotels available in winter hotspot destinations.
More Choice in Lapland and Iceland
Holiday makers to Lapland can now choose from four destinations as Kuusamo joins the TUI line up for winter 18. Exclusive to UK customers, the region is the perfect location to take advantage of Lapland’s incredible range of adventurous activities. Eight hotels, offering a variety of accommodation options, from log cabins to family friendly hotels with indoor activity parks, will be available for 3 and 4 night stays flying out of Manchester and Gatwick.

Our Santa day trips and short breaks remain massively popular and an important part of our Lapland portfolio but Christmas is only part of the story. The Lapland landscape lends itself to exploration and action and customers will find that aplenty in Kuusamo.”
In response to demand holidaymakers will also have a longer travel window than ever before to visit another hugely popular icy destination, with holidays to Iceland available until 31st March 2019. Flights will also operate out of Bristol Airport twice weekly for 3 and 4 night breaks.
More Choice in Cape Verde
One of the top destinations for winter sun seekers, the Cape Verde archipelago off the northwest coast of Africa delivers special Creole island culture and year-long sunshine. Holidaymakers wanting to getaway to enjoy milky-white sands and a tropical turquoise sea for more than a week, but not quite two, will have more 10 and 11 day stays available flying out of Birmingham and Gatwick to Boa Vista and Manchester to Sal. And Bristol Airport will operate a new weekly flight to Boa Vista.
TUI and First Choice already offer a wide range of resort options across Boa Vista and Sal but for those wanting to feel like Royalty on their winter break, the brand new 5T RIU Palace Hotel in Boa Vista is the smart choice. The new hotel is located right on the beach front and joins four other RIU properties in the region.
The TUI owned hotel brand is all about excellent service in luxurious surroundings and the RIU Palace is the premiere collection in the RIU family. Offering the most exclusive in all-inclusive guests can dine in one of four restaurants serving delicious, fresh international cuisine using local ingredients. There are four pools to choose from, including a dedicated kids pool, an indulgent Spa offering a range of treatments*, a full programme of activity, sport and entertainments and a Kids Club.
More Choice in North Africa
North Africa remains a popular destination for winter travel and to meet increasing demand TUI and First Choice will increase capacity to Hurghada, Marsa Alam and Marrakech for 2018. Two additional flights will go from Cardiff and Doncaster Sheffield to Hurghada, the Capital of the Red Sea Riviera, famed for its stunning coast link and coral reefs. In addition an extra weekly flight will depart from London Gatwick to Marsa Alam, the most southern Red Sea resort occupying a virgin stretch of coastline near the Tropic of Cancer offering 10 and 11 night stays. Flights from Bristol Airport have also be extended to cover the full season rather than just March and April.
An additional flight will also operate to Marrakesh from Bristol and holiday makers can relax in quality hotels with sensational pools and enjoy the hypnotic city where souks, snake-charmers and spices collide.
More Choice for Multi-Centre Customers
Introduced for winter 2017, TUI’s market leading multi-centre programme will grow even further for winter 18 with holiday makers able to choose from 11 destinations, as St Lucia, Florida and Morocco are extended from the summer programme across the winter season. Popular itineraries like theme park trips to Universal Resort and Walt Disney World in Florida, and the beach vibe of Agadir combined with the buzz of Marrakech in Morocco will be available.
Triple centre stays will also be introduced in Thailand so holiday makers can enjoy more of the distinctly diverse country. Customers can choose to sandwich the energy of Bangkok between beach stays in the vibrant Phuket and the unspoiled South Western Coast of Khao Lak, or go for a trio of amazing beach stops by mixing in the jaw-dropping cliff backed beaches of Krabi,

One size does not fit all when it comes to holidays. Some customers want a 14 night break, whilst others find ten nights suits them better. Some want to fly midweek, some at weekends. We’ve opened up capacity in the destinations most in demand, creating more room availability with exclusive new hotels as well as opening up new flight routes where we’ve needed to. We look forward to helping our customers discover their smiles on the winter holiday of their choice.”
All winter 2018 destinations will be on sale from Thursday 26th October.
